Anyone ever bought a car engine in Canada and brought it back to the US?

I have a line on a free engine for my current restoration project, but it’s in Canada. I’m assuming I have to do something to bring it back across the border, but googling exactly what is difficult.

Anyone know what I need to know?

It has to be 25 years old if it's a non US certified motor (some Canadian ones are)

So for an engine alone it's section 3.2, which states if it's not the same type of motor

Depending on state, I’m doubtful it needs to pass emissions.

Thanks for link...I couldn’t find that for some reason. I won’t be required to do emissions testing.

I'm not sure, but I bet some CBers would gladly pay to drive across the country and bring it back.
