The new Tacoma is having significant issues with the engine and transmission
The EPA is finally catching up with them. Owners are calling them 'turd gens' and some have even traded their new ones back for their older second gens and the bulletproof 4.0l V6.
I still find them the best value in the segment though, I'd just get a 6-speed manual and you bypass all the EPA tuning which is giving the 3rd gens a bad rap

Holy crap, none of that has anything to do with offroading. Maybe that's why the Americans suck so bad at a midsized
