None of us know if there was collusion or not...but his case wasn’t even about race. His case was that owners blacklisted him because they didn’t want the distraction of him kneeling during the anthem. And Kaepernick actually was a good football player. He had had better years for sure, but look at his numbers, they didn’t drop off as much as people like to think they did.

I don’t know if there was collusion, the nfl settling doesn’t necessarily mean one way or the other, but if he had no case at all, they wouldn’t have settled.

Do I think Kap would have gotten a contract if he had never kneeled during the anthem? Ya, probably. Maybe not a starting job, but surely someone would have brought him in as a backup.

Is it possible he had options and turned them down to further his case? Sure, that’s possible, but I’d guess unlikely. If there was substantial evidence that he had contract offers, the nfl likely wouldn’t have settled.

Most likely I’d guess it falls somewhere in the grey area. There was no grand conspiracy to keep Kap away from football, but teams decided on their own to not pursue him. Whether that was because they didn’t like his politics or whether they just didn’t think his play on the field would be worth dealing with the headache, I don’t know...none of us do.

And jimmers case is what exactly? He got outplayed by a 2nd round rookie at the same position and lost his spot.

I think plenty of nba teams would be willing to give jimmer a chance, the problem is he doesn’t want to play the whole non guaranteed contract game. He’d surely be getting 10 day contracts right now if he was playing in the g league, but he’s chosen the security of guaranteed money in China. If he’s serious about playing in the Nba, he should sign a training camp deal, fight for a spot and go to the g league if he gets cut...then take advantage of the 10 day contracts.
