Just finished my taxes - The state of Utah appears to be the big winner in
the Trump tax cuts. Using taxes owed divided by AGI, here are my particulars:
Federal effective tax rate: 5.8% (down from 6.9% prior year)
Utah state effective tax rate: 4.4% (up from 3.6% prior year)
The state of Utah has to be swimming in cash from this hidden tax increase. Almost all of my federal tax cut ended up at the state of Utah.
