Physics problem
Let’s say the world is perfectly round and the surface was frictionless. You are standing on the earth on a frictionless skateboard that has zero velocity and zero acceleration at t=0. You then light and hold onto a bottle rocket and it begins pulling you forward until it fizzles out.

What happens next, do you maintain velocity as you go around the earth? Does the drop of 8 inches per mile (curvature of the earth) accelerate you e.g. make it like rolling down a slight hill and picking up speed?
