With the Holmoe/Rose/Sitake criticisms abounding, I was reminded of this story
First, a little background. It was a common thing in the 80's and 90's for BYU fans to congregate in Stake Centers on Saturdays to try to watch the BYU game on the church satellite. So, on any given football Saturday in the mid 80's to 90's in any given stake center, when the team was struggling some know-it-all BYU Fan could be heard exclaiming—“this is all that Dick Felt’s fault”. Don't ask me why, it was just that people needed someone to blame.

When I was attending school in Lincoln, Nebraska in the early 90's we had a small, faithful crowd who would show up on Saturdays at the Stake Center to watch BYU play. One big mouth, BYU fan/dental student was often there and was one of the aforementioned "this is all Dick Felt's fault" fans. Well, that year a new married couple had come to Nebraska and the wife was Dick Felt's daughter. Knowing this I warned the Dental student before the game that Dick Felt’s daughter would be showing up and, whatever he did, do NOT say that this is Dick Felt’s fault!

So, in the middle of the game this guy exclaims after a bad play— “this is all that Dick Felt’s fault”. I kid you not. This he did after I had warned him. Irony was, Dick Felt had retired a year or two before.

Well Dick’s daughter let him have it with both barrels—“Excuse me! Dick Felt is my dad and he doesn’t even coach at BYU anymore! You are an idiot who should stay quiet because you don’t even know who is coaching...” I enjoyed every minute.

By the way, I have always imagined that same guy was probably on Cougarboard calling for the firing of Bronco and now for the firing of Tom Holmoe.
