This will be a great year to go back. The mussels will all be buried and won't

be an eyesore on the rocks or a hazard on the beaches. With the current snow pack, Lake Powell should see about a 40+ foot rise this summer. The years you want to avoid Powell are when the water levels drop and it exposes the beaches where the dead mussels are.
