I agree also if you have a family the work life balance as an NBA coach compared
to a college coach are night and day. The NBA season lasts almost 9 months and you are away from home for half of it. On the nights you are home you have games on half of them. You then have the draft, scouting, and summer league that take up a lot of the off season. Compare that to the BYU head coach who plays at most 12 road games a year and the season is half as long. If I were in his shoes with a family and my wife is from Orem the BYU head coaching job that paid similar (from what I have been told) would be very tempting.
