My favorite:
The 1998 Western Conference Finals, in which the Jazz swept the Lakers. I think that was Kobe's second (?) season. They had Shaq, Eddie Jones, Rick Fox, etc. They were SO arrogant. (I recall them predicting they were going sweep us.) And we killed them. We beat them by 35 points in Game 1. (Stockton and Malone were on fire that day!)
I *THINK* Game 3 was on a Friday night. We had a school dance that night. (I was a senior in high school.) And every time there was a fast song, 60% of the kids in the gym would go out to check the score- including the girls. At some point, the DJ guy announced the final score- Jazz, 109-98, and the eruption in the gym was so loud, you'd think he'd just announced the end of WWII. "Japan has unconditionally surrendered!" or something. (The girls started randomly kissing us. One more reason I'll always love the Jazz.) 🙂
Ahhhhhh... the Stockton & Malone era. The best ever time to be a Jazz fan.
If only it weren't for MJ... 🙄
