The trends and signs are all there.

POSTSEASON PROGRESSION

2014 = NCAA 1st-round loss as a 10 seed
2015 = NCAA Play-in game loss as an 11 seed
2016 = NIT Semifinal loss as a 2 seed
2017 = NIT 1st-round loss as a 3 seed
2018 = NIT 1st-round loss as a 6 seed
2019 = No Postseason

RECRUITING NET IS GETTING SMALLER: Basically getting commits from two AAU programs here in Utah (late summer signees because of players leaving were not included)

2019: Bernardo Da Silva (Utah Mountain Stars, Haws and Nixon's team), Nate Hansen (Utah Mountain Stars), Casey Brown (Utah Mountain Stars), Shengzhe Li (Jeff Reinert is HC at his high school)

2018: Hunter Erickson (Utah Prospects)

2017: Trevin Knell (Utah Prospects), Kolby Lee (Hoops Dream Idaho)

2016: Gavin Baxter (Utah Prospects), Yoeli Childs (Utah Prospects), Connor Harding (Utah Prospects)

2015: Zac Seljaas (Utah Prospects)

COACHING STAFF

Quincy Lewis is the only assistant coach (UVSC, Southern Utah, BYU Hawaii) with any experience outside of BYU. Two people on the staff, Garrett Faucette and Quincy Lewis, have college basektball experience outside the state of Utah. Garrett Faucett (2 years at George Mason as their video coordinator.....which he probably didn't make too many recruiting connections) Quincy Lewis (BYU Hawaii over 20 years ago so pretty much no recruiting connections from that time frame)

DEFENSE TRAVELS AND WINS ON THE ROAD

When the program was at its peak (last 4 years of the MWC) it was because of defense with a quick knock out punch offense

Kenpom ranked Defenses by year in the MWC followed this trend (06-11): 150, 97, 12, 35, 37, 29

Kenpom ranked Defenses by year in the WCC followed this trend (12-19): 21, 79, 93, 139, 68, 87, 54, 164

The 2019 team is the worst defensive team in Rose's tenure.  Interesting to note that last year was his second best defensive team in the WCC but the second worst offense in the Rose era.

BAD LOSSES and BIG LOSSES

No losses to to sub 200 KenPom ranked teams before the 2014-15 season.  8 total losses to sub 200 KenPom rated teams in the last four years (2 each year)

ATTENDANCE

2015: 16215

2016: 14699

2017: 14476

2018: 14230

2019: 11958

PLAYERS LEAVING

Transfers are one thing but best players leaving early with Euro league contracts (possibly 3 years in a row) is an awful trend that has to be reversed.
