I say that as a longtime Rose critic. The program is down and trending in the wrong direction, but Rose is a good coach. I'm not convinced there's a realistic replacement who could do a better job. There are only gambles - no proven commodities with high interest in coaching at BYU. It feels more likely that Rose turns it around than BYU hits jackpot on a gamble.
Rose needs to feel pressure to improve the program; to improve his staff; to improve recruiting. If I was TH, I'd rather apply that pressure and assist Rose in improving the program than hit the reset button and gamble on a new coach.
Alex Jensen isn't walking through that door.
Mark Madsen isn't walking through the door.
