Is that what they used to call the Rhodesian Ridgeback? Some sort of Lion dog? I saw one in SA and it had a huge head.

My first dog was a ridgeback. She was an incredible dog. Practically perfect in every way except she hated fetching.

Yes, they are the same. They were bred to protect the farms in Rhodesia from lions...
