My thoughts on yesterday's scrimmage w/ 30 second highlight clip

For those who couldn't watch the scrimmage. I didn't have time to type this up yesterday, but I thought I would give the thoughts of my untrained eye:

QB: As mentioned, Jaren Hall won the day and it wasn't even close. He had a few beautiful TD throws, one to Dax Milne (in highlight clip) and the other to Gunner Romney. He was also very elusive.

RB: No standouts here. I liked Sione Finau's ability to make a few guys miss as shown in the video clip. I would like to see the ball in his hands in some capacity, maybe returning kicks, because he is shifty. Tyler Allgeier showed some good patience on his runs. Like a lot of you, I really think we need to add another RB into the mix.

WR: Gunner Romney and Neal Pa'u were the standouts. Dax Milne looked pretty good. Other than those three, nobody really stood out.

TE: Darius McFarland was playing kind of a hybrid FB/TE position and I thought looked surprisingly good.

OL: Looked good, I thought the QBs had plenty of time. Created some lanes for the RBs.

The offense had a few new wrinkles in general that I liked. For example, the use of the RBs as receivers out of the backfield.

DL: There were a few guys that looked good to me. Zac Dawe had a few plays where he was really quick into the backfield. Gabe Summers had a really nice tackle for loss on a jet sweep.

LB: A lot of the young guys look the part. I thought Hirkley Latu, in particular, looked like a big and fast LB. Other guys like J. Kaufusi, M. Tooley, and C. Ah You had their moments. Ah You seemed to always be in on the play when he was on the field.

CB: I didn't notice any of our starters getting burned. If my memory doesn't fail me, most of the big passing plays happened when the backups were on the field.

S: Malik Moore got time at S. He looked pretty good. In general, a lot of the DBs looked much big and fast.

The defense as a whole was hard to gauge because so many starters were held out (Those off the top of my head are Tonga, Anderson, Fautea, Lee, Ghanwoloku, Warner, I. Kaufusi, D. Kaufusi [limited reps])

K: Jake Oldroyd easily won the day imo. Not only 100% accurate, but he easily hit from 48.

P: I don't recall a punt longer than 40 or 45 yards but I could be wrong.
