I bought a large cinderblock shed that sits right outside our bedroom window and we’d like to spruce it up a bit. Previous owner poisoned a large tree that used to block it because the roots were always getting in a drain that is there.

Wondering about pros/cons of siding vs. painting. I’m assuming vinyl siding is the most popular? Anyone know the general cost of siding?

Only want to do the front and 1 side. I’d estimate about 700 square feet.

Was originally going to paint but the guy at the paint store recommended primer that goes on thick (5 gallons does 20 sq ft) and requires a $2000 paint gun to apply it and they don’t rent the type I’d need. Trying to find painters then got thinking yesterday that siding might be similar in cost and possibly longer lasting.

Google says I can put siding on cinderblock but I’d trust cougarboard better.

Did a cougarboard search on siding and I think it might be the most unanswered question on cougarboard. Mottoman? kccougar? Did you guys ever get siding?
