I am hoping the Jazz can find a solution for Houston, but I am not holding my breath...Time to turnover the roster?
I don't see any reason to bring this group back next year except for Donovan, Rudy and Favors. The rest of the team, which is primarily role players, just don't have the skill sets to compete in the West. Their collective shooting is not good enough. Their collective defense is good to great, but if they have to play isolation defense they are in trouble. Sure, Houston is the perfect storm, but the league is leaning toward isolation, breaking down a defense and either scoring at the rim or kicking to 3 point shooters. Other than Donovan and maybe Ricky, there isn't anyone that can stay in front of their man.

Houston lost two valuable components on their roster after last season and went out and remade their roster. They may actually be better now than they were last year. I know the Jazz wanted to keep this group of guys together because they get along so well. I just don't think it solves for Houston and any other team that has the talent to break down the Jazz defense. I know this group of teams is small, but if the goal is to compete for and win a championship the Jazz need to make some meaningful changes.
