Not all grad transfers are the same, and it's usually easy to tell the difference. Few fit the mold of the Jordan Leslie types. Most are guys who couldn't win or hold onto the top job or one of the top jobs, so they're looking for playing time.
It's a little ridiculous to exclude Squally. He ran for 700 yds on 6 per carry with hardly any support from the passing game. There's no "he doesn't count." If that doesn't count, I don't know what does.
I'm not sure what the rest of that has to do with my post though. My entire point was to be careful to not lean too far one way or the other on trying to evaluate him. At the very least he adds a level of depth that we haven't had in quite some time. At most, he could become a solid back that earns a really good or even top share of carries. I doubt any RB gets more than 150 or so, but he could earn a large portion up to that.
Williams on paper and looking at everything we can is more of a Harvey Jackson transfer. Not a Jordan Leslie transfer. Frankly nobody we get is a Jordan Leslie grad transfer.
