This is the most unethical thing I think I've seen from this fan base. Maybe condoning physical violence against the Whittingham family beats this terrible idea.
Brigham Young University is an academic institution. To use smaller words for too many of you, this is a school. It's goals and purpose are focused on learning, educating, and developing minds. This school is unique due to it's affiliation with a major religion. AND THAT'S IT.
If sports, exposure, name recognition were so important to the Board of Trustees, then why does only BYU have a football team? What about the new UC schools, UC Irvine and UC Riverside? How come they dont have football teams!? Clearly, very smart people both in and out of the Church realize there is more to an educational institution than a sporting program! SO WHY DON'T YOU!?
This is not a an athletics program with a school attached to it. This is not an institution designed to compete athletically. This idea is akin to stealing money to pay for a small aspect of what a school does overall. This is not your money, and you cannot decide what happens to it. You are not entitled to it, and are not allowed to decided who pays for your hobby.
For the rest of you logical fans, thanks for putting up with this non-sense and seeing collegiate sports having an adjective.
And thank you jdub 😉
