What is Cougarboard's thoughts on booing your own NBA player?
I was at the Nuggets game last night and Will Barton was bad yet again for the Nuggets (he has not had a good year) and after missing his 3rd free throw in a row (and he was already 1 for 10 at that point from the field including 0-6 from 3) he received a chorus of boos from the Pepsi Center.

Now to give you some context Will has been pretty terrible this year. His effective fg% of 47.5 is the worst on the team among those who play consistently.

Barton has a net rating of .3. To give you some context the guys he starts along and plays the most minutes with have the following net ratings:

Paul Millsap - 8.4
Nikola Jokic - 6.3
Gary Harris - 6.1
Jamal Murray - 4.6

So to play mostly with those guys and have a net rating so much below the rest shows you his negative impact on the court.

He is 7-25 in the first two games of the playoffs (you can understand poor shooting, but just way too many shots).

Anyway, should the fans boo? On the one hand booing is generally not going to help a player play better. On the other hand after he was booed incessantly the coach pulled him from the game and he didn't return. Of course that is when the Nuggets comeback began.

What do you think?
