It's easy to forget that the U has only been relevant when KW was in the picture

He started at the U as the D line coach in 1994, under his dad who was DC. For the 20 years prior to his arrival, the U was 3-17 vs. BYU. With KW as an assistant, the U went 7-4 vs. BYU. Since becoming head coach, KW is 10-3. BYU had their chance to steal KW in 2005 and we allowed Utah to outbid us. We lost our alpha status at that point.
