Question about grad transfers: How many
have gone on to complete their masters program? The NCAA has to have this data somewhere.

I am aware of cases like Jordan Chatman where it looks like he will complete the masters program (he started BYU with an Associates Degree if I understand correctly). So he had multiple years of eligibility after his transfer. Most grad transfers, I would guess, are guys who have already played four years (three plus a redshirt).

The majority, if my assumption is true, transfer into a grad school program that will take more than one year, but they only have one year of athletic eligibility remaining. And, likely, only one year of athletic scholarship.

So you take a bunch of people who may not be all that interested in their masters degree or program, will have to figure out how to pay for all but the first year on their own, and generally have a primary interest in playing ball one more year and moving on with their lives and create a fiction that we’re helping them get master’s degrees.

It seems a lot more like the “one and done” for basketball players than a true academic result to me. Again, with some exceptions.
