I love hockey, I have loved hockey from the time I was a little boy. I played hockey since I was 5 and had the opportunity to play junior, college and Senior AAA pro. First off, that was one of the most exciting games I have ever seen on tv. It was an incredible comeback story, a team lost their captain, they were down big in a game 7 in the playoffs and came back and not only tied it but took the lead. Yes, it was controversial, yes I would be upset if that happened to my team. I have stated before I think the correct call would have been a double minor. It was an unfortunate injury and sucks that Pavelski was injured.

Yes the Knights blew that game. I have seen thousands of 5 minute major penalites called in all levels of hockey, both as a player, and as a fan. I have NEVER seen a team score 4 times, especially against a Vezina calibre goalie like Marc Andre Fleury. It was an incredible display of offensive talent from the Sharks. When the Sharks went up by one I kept hoping the Knights would tie it because I knew that the way it ended would cause controversy, and I was really happy when they tied it up to force OT. In my humble opinion, there is nothing better than sudden death overtime of a game 7.

Both teams had chances to win in OT, there were no penalties called. I didnt see anything egregious that was not called, and the final goal was an incredible individual play to win the game and the series. Sucks for Vegas fans for sure, I absolutely get it. Your team losing always hurts, and to lose in that fashion has to sting even more. Hopefully for you Vegas fans your team can have another great season and go even further. As a Calgary fan I absolutely am jealous of your recent success, you took a team of castoffs and turned them into a Cup contender in one year. That is an incredible accomplishment.

My biggest take is simply keep on being fans of the game. I have never seen hockey have so many posts on CB and as a huge hockey fan its really cool to see how passionate so many of you are. Some of you have only been fans for a season or two, others have been lifelong fans. Regardless its really cool to see everyone get so involved in what is the most exciting playoffs of any professional sport. And last nights game was just one example of many of why this game is so fun to watch, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, it keeps you riveted to the tv. Regardless of who you are now cheering for, just keep enjoying the game, it only gets better the closer to the Finals it gets, even if you could care less for the two teams who end up making it.
