Strongest under tow I have experienced surfing
You have the Waipio valley river that feeds into the ocean. During the course of any day, you can see the two meeting waters, change the opening drastically. Waipio in Hawaiian means "curved river" and true to form it is exactly that. From the look out looking down into the Waipio valley, opposite side of the valley is an angled area, that is used for sun bathing. Be careful though, you will get more than you bargained for 🙂

Houses approaching the Valley (on the left) are home to LDS families, about 2 that I remember. Been in that valley with my family and on an Army truck my brother had. When leaving the valley, going up, always have the right of way. There are a few areas going down that you can side over, but dicy driving. Working in the taro fields then off to the beach.

Surf is fantastic, year round, just very strong undertow.
