I actually think the post Roger Waters Floyd albums kinda sucked.
Momentary Lapse of Reason was half way decent. Division Bell was a big disappointment and Endless River was very blah.
It just wasn't the same band after David Gilmour took over though I also agree that Waters' compositions were becoming increasingly angry and depressing.
Waters was also largely responsible for the Final Cut which is the worst Pink Floyd album imo and barely listenable.
