I guess everyone is up in arms about the way the last episode went down. I liked it. I like how Cersei and Jamie die. Jamie has always been tied against his will to his sister in a way even he cannot truly explain. Fitting that they died together without fanfare of any sort. I don't care much about how Varys died, but I wonder what letters he was sending and where they went. My guess is that they were letters explaining who Jon Snow is and they were sent to Yara in the Iron Islands or something.

Back to Dany...

She simply realized that she wasn't getting what she wanted after she had obviously won the city with minimal damage.

Yes, the bells started ringing, but it wasn't because Cersei rang them. The people begged for it and someone just started ringing it because they didn't want the city to burn. For a while now, the people of King's landing have been superficial enough to simply accept the next person in line for the throne--no matter who they were. They are crappy subjects. Dany doesn't want that. In a way, she cares less about this people than Cersei. What she wants, simply, is to finally stand at the top and say--"I told you it was my throne." She is ticked that Cersei wouldn't bend the knee to her willingly under ANY circumstance, and I think that Dany made a mental connection when the bells started to ring that all of the subjects in King's Landing would only become her subjects for fear of death, not because they would respect and love her as a ruler. She doesn't want that. Better to start from scratch, so why not burn it all?

She has never really been merciful.

She has no real attachment to Westeros--only her bloodline.

She is going to fins a reason to try to kill Jon and Tyrion in the next episode so that she can rule the way she wants to. Only Jon won't die. Not sure how it is going to go down, but I am excited to see.
