But in the second half he was 9-13 passing for only 67 yards (5.2 yds/attempt) with a pick-6 and no touchdowns, and he gained only 16 yards yards rushing on 7 attempts (2.2 yds/carry) with two sacks and no touchdowns. He also had two final chances to lead BYU down the field to tie/win the game, and came up with a turnover on downs on both drives. In those two drives, there were no dropped passes or missed routes, and only one running play was called (on 4 and 1) compared to 10 plays for Wilson.
