I've always been confused about that as those signs reminding drivers of that

rule/law are covered up along with all the other HOV lane-specific signs. I guess, technically, you're not even supposed to cross a single solid white line (see lane shift lane markings that are solid lines and then switch to dashed lines before and after the lane shift).
