I was 7 in 1986 and it was the first time I remember running home from school so I could watch a World Series so I chose the Mets (my dad was a Red Sox hater so I had no choice but to cheer for the Mets). My dad was raised 10 miles from NYC and tried to raise me a Yankees fan. I never liked the Yankess but I loved (love) Rickey Henderson. As soon as he was traded back to the A's in the late 80's I became an A's fan.

I do have a special place in my heart for the Padres as the Las Vegas Stars (AAA) was their farm team for most of childhood. I watched SO MANY talented players come through Vegas only to be traded away. Those 1980s Stars games played like 1990s ALL STAR games.
