Different. It was always about winning the South before. But the cred
of having a national CFB pundit like Mandel saying anything less than a Rose would be disappointing...is noteworthy. And unique.
For BYU, that's probably tough to swallow. Local hacks have no clue about CFB on the national and will over-hype Utah out of cluelessness.
That's easy to poke holes in.
But Mandel is valid. His #12 preseason ranking of Utah goes against the CB narrative that no one respects Utah or even recognizes them nationally.
To be fair, he's probably underestimating any impact the injuries will have on Covey and Moss performance next year. I think Utah looks better on paper than IRL.
