Also - hand passes are cool and should be legal imo.

The NHL puts these refs in really difficult situations. Call what you don’t see (5 min major) - don't officiate the next series. Don’t call what you don’t see (hand pass goal last night) - don't officiate next game. Weird stuff. They need to clarify rules and make it a bit easier on the refs by allowing replay on all goals and penalties like delay of game. It’s on the NHL in my opinion - not always the refs.
