They've got Nurkic making only $12 M/yr over the next 3 years. After next season is when things get interesting for them, even before the supermax extension would kick in. That's when the deals Leonard, Turner, and Harkless signed all come off the books. They've already got $82 M committed to just five players after that. The following season, Lillard's salary alone will be over $40 M.
I still can't believe they were able to get Brooklyn to take Crabbe's $18 M/yr salary when they did. Portland would've had to face some far more difficult decisions if it hadn't been for that salary dump. Moving Crabbe + Nurkic's deal has saved them from luxury tax purgatory.
