I think that people forget how difficult it is to get potential NFL talent to agree to a strict set of rules that can really mess up your career if you break them, or to even meet BYU admission standards in the first place. BYU is somewhat flexible on the admissions thing, but lots of NFL guys don't care to get good grades and know that if they play well enough they will have opportunities. USU, BSU, and Utah have a much easier time than we do with recruiting. To his credit, I will say that Kalani is seemingly doing a better job than Bronco at attracting talent, but it is still extremely difficult to get NFL caliber guys to come to BYU.
