I admit I thought he created a divide at the time but now that I have seen how
Heaps’ career went, I think I was probably too harsh on Riley. He wanted to start and he fought for it. I don’t think his teammates disliked him.
His play on the field wasn’t great but I know for sure he gave everything he had to BYU. I can’t fault a guy like that. I was probably dumb to take sides back then. Maturity helps me realize he is probably a really good guy who works really hard and gave all he could to my football team as a player.

This is a terrible take. The guy gave all he could to BYU. Yeah, he wasn't the greatest, but I have no doubt he did
