and follow your doctor's advice. As an eye doctor it is so disheartening seeing people blind at 45 or 50 years old because of uncontrolled diabetes and basically rendered disabled for the rest of their life due to a controllable medical condition. Not to mention the non eye related issues that come with it that I don't deal with (neuropathy, kidney failure, heart disease, etc, etc). It is worth the effort. If not for yourself, do it for your family.
My plea for the day. I have had 2 people under 50 today I saw as new patients who are blind because of diabetes related eye disease where the damage is severe enough it is not reversible even with surgical intervention.
