No estimate of slaughter of civilians that I’ve ever seen puts Japan in the same

league with Germany, nor did the Japanese set up massive industrial complexes with the sole purpose of making genocide more efficient.

Hitler and his Germany are the clear GOATs in this sad arena. Their only serious competition comes from Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, IMO. Stalin gives them some competition too.
