I've felt for a while that there was a shift in college basketball that could've
really helped BYU but ended up hurting them in a big way. As more and more teams were loading up on one-and-done players I thought BYU would benefit by having 4 year players that were good, but not quite good enough to be one-and-done guys. It turns out as leagues across the world got better, more and more players began thinking they were good enough to earn money by leaving early. St Mary's and Gonzaga have figured out how to either get guys to stick around or replace roster holes with quality transfers. I think the Honor Code works against BYU in that regard. I honestly don't know what the solution is.
