Thanks!
Unfortunately I think the Boston tailgate was up against some difficult circumstances--largely, as I understand it, because of restrictions imposed by an NFL stadium.
The Nashville and Chattanooga Alumni Association are working together--along with several alums in Knoxville--to put together the UT tailgate. If you were familiar with the MTSU tailgate a few years back, which got great reviews, a lot of the same people are working on this one (with a little more experience under our belt!). We started planning back in January. We've got a great venue (World's Fair Park--right in the heart of downtown Knoxville and a short walk from Neyland Stadium) and will have live music (The National Parks are flying out to perform!), BBQ, BYU swag/freebies, mercandise sales, games/activities, a BYU Admissions booth (for those interested HS students and their parents!), etc. We're expecting a few thousand to be there--and we're committed to making it the biggest and best BYU tailgate to ever happen outside of Provo! We're also trying to make it a sort of "ESPN College Gameday" atmosphere and have had some conversations with BYUtv about how we can do this. To top it all off, proceeds from this will go directly to fund scholarships/grants for BYU students.
GO COUGARS!
