bit I will agree generally. For most people expenses take up the majority of their incomes and it requires time to get to a point where expenses don’t make up the majority and that would mean they would have tow work longer.

The exceptions to that would be those who make far more than their expenses or those who simply would prefer to keep working so that it doesn’t matter anyway. But for most of us the ability to retire is directly correlated to how much we spend as we go along. But not everyone is trying to retire as quickly as they possibly can. They realize what they spend might prolong their work life but they prefer to have possessions and experiences along the way more than they prefer to retire early. There’s nothing wrong with that.
