dreamed about the college world series their whole lives. It's a big deal down there as you know. It's not like they are turning them around to throw tomorrow. That's a bigger issue and yet to be seen. Recovery time. I honestly don't put too much into single game pitch counts. It's rare anyway to get up above 120. But They don't phase me. HS has a 110 pitch count now. I coached 7 years in HS without a pitch count rule. Now how a kid delivers a ball and how many off speed pitches he's throwing matters. You can observe a lot without worrying about the pitch count.
As a player I could throw fastballs all day long. Too many breaking balls and I can't throw that many.
I just don't think these coaches did anything wrong. Again, to me the recovery time is more important.
