Zilog This Guy
A bit of a scary weekend for my family this weekend.
First on Thursday my 18 year old step daughter took her 10 year old brother (on his birthday) with her when she went to take friends home. It was raining pretty good at the time. When they were getting off the Springville exit the car lost traction on the rainy ground. She over corrected and ended up rolling her vehicle. Everyone is ok a couple concussion and and one hurt elbow. Luckily a minute before the accident she convinced one of her friends to put on her seatbelt. The vehicle is totaled and she had had it less than a week. Only had liability so that sucks. Could have been really bad but hopefully will be a valuable lesson for all those that were in the car. The 10 year old has been very adament about seatbelt safety since then, so that's good.

Then on Saturday. We had a rough night with kids having nightmares and what not so there was a lot of woken parents in the night. So we had a family thing at my inlaws (I'm not married but been with my GF for over 6 years) at 4. Around 1 o clock or so I decided to go take a nap before we left. Around 230 or 3 I woke up and we were getting everyone ready to go, when we realized my 4 year old son wasn't in the house. We figured he had gone out the park (It's right behind where we live in townhouse complex). No one knew where he was and while the kids went outside to check friends houses and the park, I decided to go check the van. (He's hid in the van before). I go open up the van and turn and look in the back of the van and there he is in his car seat all buckled in. He's drenched in sweat and looks really drained. As soon as we make eye contact I may have said a swear or two in my shock and relief. He bursts in to tears when he sees me. I hurry and pull him out and bring him in. I haven't been that relieved in a long time and scared for what could have happened. Turns out his mom had told everyone to make sure they were ready to go in a couple hours, but he thought she meant we were leaving then. So he got his shoes on and jacket and went and got himself in the van and buckled himself. He can buckle himself in his carseat but he can't undo it. He said he was screaming and pounding on the window everytime he saw someone walk past or a car go past. My poor little boy.

SO that was my scary weekend. Made me hug all the kids a lot more and everyone was throwing out I love you's like it was going out of style. I'm super grateful everyone came out of it ok.
