Why is more than 2 tournaments a danger signal?

In my area most good teams do 3 to 5 each spring/summer. It is mostly just for fun so the kids can challenge themselves and see how good their teams can get.

Coaches aren’t paid and club registration fees aren’t very high, so this clearly isn’t a moneymaker for anyone.
