Father in law was engineering prof and was told to make religion classes hard

If BYU were to get rid of the mandatory graded religion classes, I think it would help them a bit. I know this is controversial. But it was strange how my father in law taught upper level engineering courses. He would also teach a religion class here and there to mix it up. He would get frustrated because he would be told to make his religion classes as challenging as his engineering classes. Maybe I'm just out of touch...but I don't like that.

Yes, religion is part of the accrediation at BYU and none of my religion classes were taught "like Seminary"
