Things were awful tight when I was first married.
There were definitely times we'd paid all of the bills and were out of money for a few days and couldn't purchase food - so we were stuck with whatever we might've had on hand.

I can't say I've ever been without food. I've definitely had my share of beans, rice, or ramen.

But if the question is just about having been in a position where I did not have money to buy food and knew we'd have to get by with whatever was in the fridge or cupboards for a week - yeah, been there.

If this is a bigger question about ever being in the position of not having any food, not having money to purchase food, and not knowing when my next meal might come - no. I've never had to worry about really going hungry.
