Lincoln Ended Slavery with Emancipation Proclamation.
The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free."

Slavery wasn't abolished by Lincoln in the northern states with the proclamation (still allowed in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, West Virginia, Delaware). He was good freeing slaves not in his country, but in the Union slavery was still okay.
