We were waiting for our bags after a family trip at baggage claim of SLC terminal 1. My 3 year old daughter urgently needs to use the bathroom. I take her to the nearest men's room and she uses the stall with me there to assist.
The policeman (wearing the yellow vest I'm pretty sure says police) was basically waiting outside and stopped me to tell me next time I should use the family restroom provided in airports. A) There was no family restroom near this location, I'm not walking a long distance with a toddler that needs to go and B) those things are generally occupied. I'm not against using them, but I'm not going out of my way to do so. She's three years old and does her business in a closed stall.
He wanted me to agree with him that I would use the family restroom next time. I just couldn't do it so the conversation lasted much longer than if I would have just said ok. Overall, thought it was a very weird thing to stop someone about.
