The Jazz could trade Gobert and some younger players/role players for AD. He’d be the best player in a package for AD.

You do this for the same reasons Toronto did the DeRozan trade to get Kawhi.
- You aren’t winning a title with Rudy as your center in the 2019 NBA. So at some point you’re going to need to tear it down anyway. We have two years to see what this team is. It’s good, not great. Won’t win it all.
- Take a 1 year shot to get a transcendent player and make a run in a suddenly wide open NBA.

Worst case scenario, he leaves after a year and you build around Donovan.

(Note, it’s possible this is a dumb idea...or that it’s a great idea and I’ll get a massive offer from the Wizards to be a GM next year).
