Maybe, although I don’t know why that would matter. Also, I thought Ecuador was
hosting in 2024? I thought CONMEBOL announced this a while ago, but maybe they reversed themselves?
Supposedly, they are going through all CONMEBOL countries to host in alphabetical order, with Brazil and Chile swapped to accommodate Brazil’s hosting of the Olympics and World Cup. Colombia next year (although apparently co-hosting with Argentina, which is weird), Ecuador in 2024, and so on.
