Don't knock it till you try it! Great for the entire family.
If you want a real workout, play singles. As a "middle age" athlete, pickle ball is great to maintain hand to eye coordination without much effort on the knees. Everyone can play. You just find out what your rating is and join a group of the same caliber. Great sport and replacing tennis everywhere.
