Went to see Aladdin with the family this afternoon....

Overall, Good, but not great.

I think Jasmine was better in this movie than the original. They developed her character better. THe new actress was pretty good too.
I liked the Jafar character better too .... more development, and the "I used to be a street rat, too" bit played well, and made a nice twist at the end.

Genie was not as good. Sorry, Will Smith is OK, but he is noooooo Robin Williams. Not as good at all.....
Aladdin was OK, but not great.

Story was a tiny bit better .... they filled in some gaps....

BUT, I completely hated the end .. SPOILER ALERT

How STUPID to make the Genie Human at the end .... what is the fun it that!!!!!! No, let him be a FREE GENIE!!!!

My HCBW comment .... why can't they get GOOD singers rather than just big names!!! but she is/was a vocal performance major!
