The Lakers have been a mess, New York is a joke, Chicago is terrible, Dallas hasn’t been good, Atlanta is a bad.
It’s obviously an advantage to be in a big market, and there are some obvious big market teams that have been good. But it doesn’t come down to big market=good, small market=bad. As Odysseus said, it’s all about drafting a star. If you draft well, the rest takes care of itself.
This isn’t to say you don’t have a point, the Jazz are at a disadvantage. But that doesn’t mean they will always be on the outside looking in.
