Why don't they keep City Creek mall and other food establishments open late on
event nights? You've got 20,000+ people at the conference center or at a jazz game getting out at 9pm and the only places open are bars and dance clubs.

Every time I get out of an event like that I wish I could go to that Rocky Mountain Chocolate place or get some premium ice cream somewhere. They're all closed.

Seems like some of those places could do really well by paying a few employees to stick around for an extra hour. I guarantee some of them would have long lines of people and make a ton of money. It would be profitable even if they had to pay their employees double time to keep them happy.

I understand that it wouldn't make sense most nights. Why not take advantage of the crowds when they are there ready to celebrate? Instead we end up driving to whatever happens to be open, usually something like a Sonic or Wendy's.
